Candan Massacre
Oth. 1. Incident where several townspeople and thieves were killed in the small marsh-town of Candan. The massacre occured following a rivalry between two groups of thieves, and the escape of one (see Aras) from the other (see Ferret). Both groups wanted the treasure of Cogham which was in the possession of Jak the Red and his friends. When the thieves learned that Jak might have the treasure they found and killed his father, Jak the Elder. When Jak the Red and his group returned to Candan and learned of his father's murder, the streets of Candan were bathed in the blood of thieves.

Councillor
Oth. 1. A title given to wizards who held governmental appointments within the Dekàlan Empire. The term probably results from the fact that many wizards served as advisors to the nobility of the Empire.
Council of Lanàdus
Oth. 1. Parliamentary body of representative high priests who historically have selected the High Kings and Queens of Dekàlas. 2.  Body of priests that make and enforce theological doctrines within the Dekàlan cults. 3.  Highest court of the empire.
Council of Ten
Oth. 1. Figurative legislative body of the Dekàlan High Lords, chaired by the High Crown or in the absence of a High Crown three elected members of the Council of Ten.  Each Crown of the Council of Ten holds an equal vote except for the chair which holds three.  When no High Crown exists, the seated elected Council of Ten representatives vote as a block.

Craden
Oth. 1. A druid of Woad who lives on the outskirts of the City of Oth.  Craden walks along the shores of the Kre Dulnar every morning to beachcomb.  A bent and angry little man with a wild white beard, browned pate, and large lower lip.  He walks with the aid of a slender white driftwood staff which leaves odd three-mark footprints across the morning sands (he's clubfooted but gets around pretty well).  He wears a gray wool wrap and binds his feet in ragged strips of cloth.  A large leather pouch hangs around his neck, filled with little shell talismans, stones and mistletoe.  When inspired, he leaves messages in the sand, but tries to leave before the sun rises. He is not fond of people.  He also answers to the name, Meren.
