"Too often days swiftly pass / Weeping in the evening grass / There just is not enough time / Forthings you dreamt you'd do / The hours still drift by.

"Too many years, too high a cost / Too many lessons earned but lost / And still you complain all the time / Cursing the days before you / Lamentng the days gone by.

"And finally laying in your bed / Staring skyward, nearly dead / It all floods back one last time, / The chances that you left behind / But alas there's little left to do / ... but cry."

Characters

Overview

The following is a list of brief biographies for every player character that has been part of the World of Teréth End since 1995.  The most developed characters are detailed further on individual pages. Though included here, each character is the property of its creator / player.

Othic Chronicle

Adae (Adae) lives in the Northfields of Oth where he is a cornerstone of the community there.  Farmers and shepherds of the area seek his aid to relieve of sickness, to assist against Goblin incursions, or for planting and harvesting advice.  A religious man, Adae is a follower and teacher in the ways of Woad. (LeamH)

Alcerra (Alcerra Nadrelan, of Kirit Nalam, Ildûn) lives currently in the Oth borough of Cenotaph where she has recruited a number of followers to help reclaim the desanctified landscape.  Following a protracted campaign against the Ghuls of the area, she answered a calling to remain and finish the work that she and her friends had begun.  Though largely feared due to her necromantic powers, the Draun priestess is sometimes sought by desperate individuals seeking solace. (TeresaL)

Dammon (Dammon Shroudson, of Lanàdus) is a confused and weary traveler who is as lost in the world as he is within himself.  In early 652 DR, he found himself in Oth with only fragmented dreams to outline a mysterious past.  His companions offer him some security and the means to seek and contend with that which is missing from his life. (KyleM)

Feyd (Feyd) currently works for Endren of Eiron as a reluctant stonemason's apprentice.  His deceit earned him two year's labor at Eironhold, a hilltop in the Moren Burdrul, where he is assisting Dwürden craftsmen in the construction of Endren's keep.  His past (and future) patiently wait for his return in the streets and alleys of the Sulyard. (LesW)

Jak (Jak of Candan, the Younger, the Red, Thard of the Goblin Queen), the son Jak the Elder of Candan, grew to fill his father's boots as watchman on the mist-shrouded bridges of Candan, a marshy borough of Oth.  All was as it should be until he joined with an adventuring group, and his experiences triggered a flow of events which would kill his father and turn his quiet home town on its ear.  True to his calling, Jak has always been available to defend his home but never has there been such as now, and the blame for these ill times has fallen squarely on his shoulders. (SteveZ)

Kaithah (Kaithah, of the Argental) is buried within the Living Mound deep in the Silverwood.  Slain in battle against Saranthi pilgrims at Eagulthar's Rest, her companions carried her home to be buried in the custom of her people.  A Halveral bard, Kaithah was an accomplished musician.  Her greatest work was a flawless performance of the elfin piece "Four Seasons" by Oberyl.  Her playing of the ancient work summoned hundreds of winter Faeri into the halls of Kry Shurulm. (SarahR)

Malyn (Malyn) was a mercenary of some repute in the Harbor Ward of Oth.  She was killed in the spring of 652 in the courtyard of Olaunda Aldar, an influential member of the powerful Merchants Guild.  Her body was found a few blocks from Southmarket in the morning and taken to Dirgrim, a guard and associate of Malyn.  Though actively her role in the Othic chronicle was brief, Dirgrim's subsequent actions would send shudders through the Oth's balances of power. (TeresaL)

Mishara (Mishara Mithdaras, Protector of Calsador) is one of a handful of explorers that have walked the forbidden streets of Arkirün and emerged alive.  An Anahlan archer by profession, Mishara spent time in the Dekàlan city of Oth where he met some mortal companions.  Mishara's fate took an abrupt turn however in the Tor'n Evashat when he picked up the relics of Calsador from the fallen defender Norgus.  With this relics of power, the Elve trekked through mountain snows to the hidden hamlet where the last of an ancient line of priests christened him (against his will) the next great defender of their vale and its secrets.  (ChrisC)

Tressta (Tressta Drynsval, of Taldàna) is a young woman of privileged birth and rearing who has worked her way into the cutthroat underworld of Oth.  Once a courtesan by profession, the beautiful Taládan temptress has dealt with many of Oth's elite.  Operating from Genter, an infamous outlying town, Tressta was employed for a few years before finding a way free by means of the half-wit Ogren Egrod. (SarahR)

Saldus (Saldus Greymane, of Botton Liche) served as Captain of the Company of the White Raven in Oth.  In his older years he was ordered by the High Lord to accompany a group of adventurers south across the Tor'n Evalshat to find and deliver a message meant for the High Lady of distant Taldàna.  Despite the deaths of a hand-picked company for the mission, the soldier was able to present the box to the High Lady.  His duty finished, he returned to Oth and settled with Taranna, his wife, awaiting his final call to arms. (TeresaL)

Zildara (Zildara, of Kandal) is a young priestess of Zalan who found herself imprisoned in the Ezmiran dungeon of Kzar Boron, having been given over to authorities for crossing the local thieves guild.  Escaping from her cell, the priestess found and released Tressta of Taldàna and Ezikus of Roth. Together the three fought their way from the castle and hid in the city of Boronon until others of the group could be found and their passage secured on the merchant ship Widower. (SarahC)

Orphans Chronicle

Bendin (Bendin, of Kelspar) is a young thug.  Bendin has survived on the streets of Oth for many years, eschewing the company of gangs in favor of larger shares of food and loot.  Not well-practiced in his social skills, Bendin recently admitted and befriended an older boy named Velnar who was newly reintroduced onto the streets. (JeffS)

Velnar (Velnar, of Kelspar) is a disposessed apprentice sorcerer. A street urchin that was adopted by an old Kelspara woman, Velnar later found himself back on the street again following his mentor's strange disappearance.  Fortunately, Velnar has able to secure shelter with fellow orphan Bendin beneath a dry goods store near the South Wall. (JamesS)

Jadthàri Chronicle

Anke (Anke, of Ildûn) is an Eoyn bardess down on her luck and far, far from home. She plays well but seems only to be able to get jobs at rundown dwemes and poor-paying functions. Recently, at the Burning Dog she met an interesting group of people who might be able to help her turn her life around. (NatalieR)

Cimrûn (Cimrûn) (KyleM)

Ferveo (Ferveo Caelestis, of the Esara'shal Kdar), at the bidding of his master, traveled northwest to the City of Jadth from his monastery on the Peraram Coast of Jadth.  In the city Ferveo met and befriended the short and old Zuroolly, who in turn led him to meet Silda and Vorén months later.  He and Zuroolly have made some money performing for the street crowds with their snake and tumbling act, but the pay is poor. (MikeD)

Dolono (Dolono) (SteveZ)

Galleron (Galleron) was a hunter in the Dreamland forests surrounding Jadth until his weakness for gambling found him owing more money than he'd ever had.  Held in a wooden cage on a river boat near Zembra, Galleron pitched himself into the Run Suluth where under a rain of arrow fire he was pulled from the frothing waters onto an westbound barge.  Following an even stranger change of fortune, Galleron was drawn into the Dreamlands by the sorcery of Is ShyA-da, where he soon angered and was subsumed into a chaos monster.  As the Dream Galleron becomes less and less each day, the waking Galleron is thrown deeper and deeper into the depths of madness. (ChrisL)

Kandar (Kandar) was an incautious Uren mercenary who during his first mission from the dream city of Dirapzir, fled through dark tunnels beneath the Palace of Oberyl, falling into a hole and out the bottom of the floating island Dun Ngur.  He is assumed to have died somewhere near the forest floor far below.  His partner Kendra survived him. (ChrisL)

Kendra (Kendra, of Dirapzir) is an Ejara shaman... (SarahC)

Marcus (Marcus) (SeanC)

Nassir (Nassir) was one of the Tasseran desert people, who came to Zembra as an agent of the Zin Virael. His last duty was to watch the roads leading to and from Kurum Adjàdaar for people coming to investigate the disappearance of Rallea of Jadth.  When the group found Nassir, they took him into some of their confidences only to have him overhear their secret mission. Following a chase through the streets of Zembra, Nassir was killed in a dark alley, satisfied that he had succeeded (J-17). (DustyM)

Silda (Silda, of Wurm) has traveled long and far from northern Winterlands to arrive on the docks of Jadth.  Meeting and befriending Vorén in the port city of Takir, the two escaped aboard a southbound ship and arrived in Jadth.  A foreigner in these hot and humid lands, the fair skinned warrior walks cautiously and curiously through the streets, one hand never far from the great sword's handle on her back. (TeresaL)

Velé (Velé, of Kedwin) is an eccentric priest of the minor-god Kedwin the Journeyer. A friend of Zuroolly Hicubaba he is found from time to time wandering the Dreamlands, blessing travelers, pilgrims, and seeking his fortunes.  After an encounter (J-9) with the Red Guards of the Old City he was instructed not to return following his claim of disease. (ChrisA)

Vorén (Talôr Dal-Vorénen, of Nalthazam) has ventured further than most, escaping slavery and hopeless despair in a daring journey that delivered him from the dark heart of Terèthor.  Vorén's flight took him to Candal and from there he traveled to many ports before arriving in Takir, Azàlari.  In Takir, Vorén met and befriended Silda, and after a spat of "opportunity" took a southbound ship to Jadth. (KyleM)

Xoren (Xoren, of Jadth) (JudyC)

Zuroolly (Zuroolly Hicubaba) emerged from the jungles dragging a heavy package behind him.  He attracted few glances as he pulled the package up and down the streets, looking for a new home.  Now and then he stopped and whispered, standing quietly and listening to the package's response before turning the next corner.  In this manner three days passed, until at last he entered and settled inside a rundown shack on Southshore. (SteveZ)

Thieves Chronicle

Daga (Daga Grey, of Jaris) is a thief and tinkerer by profession.  Supported comfortably by his repair business, Daga is also a member of the local Derecauln though which he maintains and finds valuable contacts.  When not fixing clockworks and other knick-knacks he is refining and improving upon his tools (and those of his associates). (SteveZ)

Dogsbutt (Dogsbutt, of Jaris, the Red Cock) lives in the attic of Solem's bar and safehouse, the Red Cock.  Known throughout the neighborhood as the ugliest man walking (half-Urdar?), Dogsbutt is a fixture within the community due partially to his pathetic wooing of a local barmaid and also his occasional public drunkeness.  The stunted Dogsbutt may be the butt of jokes within the area, but he is also an accomplished thief who has earned some reluctant respect within the local Derecauln. (KyleM)

Skarn (Skarn, of Jaris) is an old retired-soldier and now full-time drunk.  The old man hired on with Daga and Dogsbutt to settle some issues at a Naryard asylum run by a magic-using Craw. (MikeD)

Whitey (Whitey, of Jaris) is an albino Derecauln swordman for hire. Notorious (and therefore sought out) for his cold-blooded attitude, the chronically poor Whitey doesn't seem able to pick himself up and better his situation, instead hanging out at the Red Cock with old friends, Daga and Dogsbutt. (ScottJ)

Darkfold Chronicle

Cisco (Cisco Beret) (SteveL)

Ivy (Ivy) was magically aged by a necromantic servant of the Black Order and has become a ward of the Temple of Roth, who is seeking to counter her advancing decrepitude.  An inhabitant of the Lower Streets of Oth, Ivy underwent rapid aging at the hands of a necromancer.  The priests of Roth are not sure they can arrest her aging, but are seeking the assistance of a local Draun priestess to aid in the matter. (YvonneS & KellyM)

Jacobus (Jacobus Eldren) is a crossbowman for hire. (ToddP)

Kulak (Kulak, of Saranth) is a paladin of Orander, hiding in the Lower Streets until he is called into action by his priesthood.  Kulak is disgusted with the filth ad depravity he has encountered during his stay below the city, which every day boosts his resolve that the occupied City of Iron must be returned to the true way under the iron fist of Orander.  Only by bringing Oth to its knees, can the occupying forces of the last several hundred years be driven from the city, and a new and honorable High Lord be placed upon the ancient throne. (DaveM)

Peric (Periculenna, of Vishàshun) (ChrisC)

Ricket (Ricket) (SteveZ)

Shalymar (Shalymar) (KellyM)

Tandel (Bordo) (EricM)
