Festivals and Holidays: 13 - Dûntru (Dekàlan, Draun)

Monthturn

1.  [All] Mamra is new. [Jadth] Nightsdeep; Group returns to south shore following meeting with Izzaradragulth. Vorén sneaks into inn and recovers possessions to avoid guardian. Group goes to second inn. Vorén meets with Mizzerim. Silda has horrible dreams. Morning; Zuroolly goes to tailor and picks-up snakeskin vest and belt for Ferveo and himself.  Day; Spectral guardian slays thief in the street. Zuroolly's unseen servant wrestles with small boy over dagger. Evening; Vorén visits Arun. Group goes to Run Suluth docks. Night; Group meets Iriven, pays for passage on ship to Zembra. (J-14) [Oth]

2.  [All] [Jadth] Morning; Group boards boat, boat sails east, upriver. Night; Ship is attacked by kambèrad (forest mantles), two sailors are smothered and crushed by the monsters.  Iriven asks Ferveo and Silda to work on the deck in their places. (J-14) [Oth]


First Tenday

3.  [All] [Jadth] Day; Silda is restless with horrible dreams, looks feverish. Boat continues by oar along the Run Suluth. Evening; Zembra spotted. Night; Boat docks at Zembra. Group bids farewell to Iriven and are escorted by an armored sentinel to a good inn. Vorén wanders through the covered streets of Zembra. (J-14) [Oth]

4.  [All] [Jadth] Nightsdeep; Vorén finds a holdout for the Order of Skardathir and gathers information. The priestess Dalmira places a blessing on him. In the early hours Vorén reaches Kurum Adjàdaar, kills a roaming Varst and is captured by the estate chamberlain. Guardian is attacked by street rogue, Ferveo and Zuroolly comes to its aid.  Guardian temporarily relieves Silda of her dreams.  Town guard investigates killings, takes prisoner to barracks. Morning; Ferveo goes to barracks. Zuroolly goes shopping. Day; Ferveo is interrogated with the prisoner. Evening; Zuroolly is taken to the barracks and questioned. Night; Zuroolly pays his and Ferveo's way out of jail. (J-14, 15) [Oth]

5.  [All] [Jadth] Morning; Ferveo and Zuroolly speak with Illybàel about the ivory towers and the Bru. Day; Travel back and forth between inns, checking on the Silda and the guardian. Night; Silda exhausted and sleeping restlessly again.  Fever returns.(J-15) [Oth]

6.  [All] [Jadth] Morning; Ferveo and Zuroolly check on Silda, who claims to have been contacted by Morgormir through the Dream. Silda promises the spectre of Morgomir that she will kill Izzaradragulth, one day. Vorén wakes in a storage room beneath the mansion. He escapes from his room but is trapped in the basement for sometime. Day; Zuroolly and Ferveo head toward Kurum Adjàdaar looking for the missing Vorén. They meet Nassir sitting near a bridge into the demesne. Group moves to inn on northside of town. Night; Group follows creek to swell near wall, cross in fishing boat, enter forest. Near the circumference road, group is attacked by two Varsti and the Varst master. Silda's sword bursts into flame fighting the Varst master. Group successful, but retreats to town to lick wounds. Vorén explores all the rooms in the mansion basement. (J-15, 16) [Oth]

7.  [All] [Jadth] Nightsdeep; Nassir tends to people's wounds. Day; Group waits for nightfall, convalescing. Evening; Zuroolly invites Nassir into the street but the newcomer cannot see the wounded guardian. Night; Ferveo and Zuroolly return to Kurum Adjàdaar and explore further along the circumference road. Vorén awaits his opportunity to escape, listening to conversations at the top of the stairs. (J-16) [Oth]

8.  [All] [Jadth] Nightsdeep; Ferveo and Zuroolly meet a lone Varst in the estate hunting grounds, which follows them to their boat and waits till they cross to the townside before turning away. Day; News arrives in town that a great ship has arrived in the harbor from Jadth. Zuroolly goes to the docks and watches a carriage pick-up some important people and a contingent of ten soldiers march toward the estate. Night; Group sneaks back onto estate grounds and observes bustling and increased patrolling. Zuroolly's toad hops up to the mansion and eavesdrops on the proceedings, briefly entering the kitchen door and encountering a rat. Group returns to town, four days having passed since they last saw Vorén. The chamberlain is imprisoned and guarded in the basement, doors down from Vorén's new hiding place. (J-16) [Oth]

9.  [All] [Jadth] Morning; Guards take chamberlain to the west yard of Kurum Adjàdaar were he is judged. Vorèn sneaks upstairs during the interest in affairs outside, briefly cases mansion and slips out through the kitchen despite being spotted by house staff. As he races across the gardens toward the forest he hears the executioner's sword. Vorèn races through the trees of the creek's west bank, feeling more and more slow and tight in his joints until he reaches the riverside and crawls into a storage building for the day. Day; Zuroolly talks to Nuth, finds Gurond's weapon smithy and looks at short swords. Night; Vorén arrives at inn and updates group on his adventures. Nassir is sent from room but is heard outside while they talk and flees. Group pursues to dark street and are attacked by a Bru. Nassir is cornered. Nassir is killed and found to be Zin Virael. Vorén tries to sell found weapons unsuccessfully. (J-16, 17) [Oth]

10.  [All] [Jadth] Nightsdeep; Vorén watches out window until morning. Morning; Zuroolly trades trident and Nassir's scimitar for a short sword for Vorén. Zuroolly explains the night's events to a dockside Nuth. Evening; Vorén returns to his Cult and shows them swatch of skin with Nassir's tattoo, receives blessing. Night; Group assembles at inn to discuss plans. Vorén insists that Nassir said Rallea was taken North. Plans are made to leave for Maradach. (J-17) [Oth]

11.  [All] [Jadth] Morning; Zuroolly sells the Bru sword for its worth as iron, opting not to tell authorities about the Bru encounter within their city. Ferveo and Zuroolly buy 20 days of travelling rations. Evening; Group leaves Zembra but doesn't make it far down road before questioning the wisdom of walking through the jungles at night. Also of concern is Nassir's threat that if they left Zembra their lives would be forfeit. Night; Returning to the docks they seek ship passage to Maradach and are approached by a thin bearded man missing half his teeth. The man offers them passage for 15 aurala each, leaving very soon. Group decides to look further. Thin man pokes Silda and she draws her sword on him. (J-17) [Oth] Flender leads group along old trails and finds an old abandoned caravan in high pass.  Down the other side into a wooded mountain valley, they found and traveled along the Old Taládan Road. (O-45)

12.  [All] Mamra is full. [Jadth] Nightsdeep; After resting some group looks for another boat. Group talks to an older man with a fruit barge, named Larrad. Larrad agrees to have passengers but seems confused when the characters insist he needs their protection. Day; Silda is taken to a shrine of Sudul where she is divined as being possessed by Dagari. The priestess explains that she cannot help Silda but that perhaps priests in Jadth, or maybe Maradach can. Ferveo buys Silda a small clay pot of herbs to give her momentary clarity. (J-17) [Oth] Group continues along Old Taládan Road.  Dire wolves at the command of the caller Hurgr attack the group as they camp that night.  Valus is bitten badly but survives. (O-45)


Midmonth

13.  [All] Dûntru. [Jadth] Nightsdeep; Group heads to docks and finds Larrad arguing with a large woman who seems pissed that he's taken on passengers to Maradach. Vorén hides under a canvas. Morning; The barge moves out onto the river without oars or sails, Ferveo feels vibrations through the boards beneath his feet. (J-17) [Oth] Group wanders higher into the mountains.  Dragon bridge is crossed, Mishara's horse falls into canyon and is killed.  Group travels higher.  Camp is made.  Jak and Dammon's familiar investigate abandoned Ortori camp.  Cairns are found near menhir marked with the Ortori symbol for plague. (O-46)

14.  [All] Woad is new. [Oth] Group ventures deeper into the Tor'n Evalshat.  Group meets Norgus of Calsador in mountain canyon among the ruins of Tolvor's caravan.  Ortori Colossus animates and attacks.  Cave is revealed.  Cave is explored up until Huddrum dies.  Group retreats to the cave mouth and heals. (O-46, 47)

15.  [All] [Oth] Group returns into Bragnar Bar Ort tunnels.  The gate is taken and the mushroom caves are found.  Ortori patrol is destroyed and Uren slaves are greeted, but too drugged to know they have been "liberated".  (O-47, 48)

16.  [All] [Oth] Nightsdeep. Group explores Dw»rden keep, kills Ortori ambushers. Magic tome is discovered by Dammon. Morning.  Group emerges from caves and kills two scouts.  Mishara receives Call of Calsador.  Group decides to camp in cave until Flender can be moved.  Mishara stands vigil in the canyon.  (O-49)


Second Tenday

17.  [All] [Oth] Day. Revived but weary Flender leads group west into the mountains, with large group of slaves in tow.  A camping spot is found on mountainslope.  A large bonfire is built. Another day of rest.  Mishara heads tirelessly west to find Calsador alone, led by the urgings of Iskaravor.  (O-49)

18.  [All] [Oth] Morning.  Camp is broken and the group heads back to the Old Taládan Road and continues south. Night. Mishara reaches Calsador and is met by Collus and the rangers.  Mishara is led to the Grey Inn and meets with the village wizard.  Mishara is presented to the priestess who casts Geas upon him with the Scroll of the Ancestors making him the new (and reluctant) Defender of Calsador.  (O-49)

19.  [All] [Oth] Nightsdeep.  Night. Mishara steals Scroll of the Ancestors and visits village wizard.  Wizard takes Mishara to the Defender's home.  Morning.  Group breaks camp and continues south along Old Taládan Road.  (O-49)

20.  [All] [Oth] Morning.  Group breaks camp and continues south along Old Taládan Road. Day. Group comes to wooded valley and are attacked by Dire Bear.  Almus dies trying to help Jak.  Dammon and Flender discover good camping ground in south end of valley, with hot springs. Camp is made as they wait for Mishara to return.  (O-49)

21.  [All] [Oth] Group camps in the gentle alpine valley.  (O-49)

22.  [All] Mamra is new. [Oth] Group camps in the gentle alpine valley.  (O-49)

23.  [All] [Oth] Group camps in the gentle alpine valley.  (O-49)

24.  [All] [Oth] Morning. A slave is buried in the early morning. Group breaks camp and heads south along Old Taládan Road.  (O-50)

25.  [All] [Oth] Nightsdeep. Elidir and Tressta are watched by five large snowy owls during their early-morning watch. Morning. Camp broken, group travels further south. Evening. Group makes camp among dead trees and listens to moaning and creaking branches all night.  (O-50)

26.  [All] [Oth] Evening. Group enters area with many small caves. Dammon's familiar finds a spring-cave where some people died or were buried many years ago. Familiar returns with a bone and rock medallion.  (O-50)


Monthturn

27.  [All] [Oth] Nightsdeep. Dammon is carved, receives spell from familiar, [Mage Armor]. Morning. Group travels further south. Day. Flender returns from scouting Ortor camp. Group hides and is attacked by two-headed Ogdar and Ortor force. Dammon blinded by Ortori mage. Evening. Group sets up camp in Ortori hide tents.  (O-50)

28.  [All] Woad is full. [Oth] Day. Jak regains consciousness following yesterday's fight.  Day is spent convalescing.  (O-50)

Calendars

Here are a list of the most well-known calendar systems

Ancient Reckoning (AR)
A strictly historical calendar that dates backward from the beginning of the High King's calendar.

Before the Wyrm (BW)
A Vulmuran calendar used to reference years preceeding the Reign of Idharaghadi of Samad.

Dekàlan Reckoning (DR)
Calendar adopted following the Fall of Dekàlas.

Emereni Reckoning (ER)
A proper calendar in the Elve tradition, in that it returns to 0 when new ages are entered.

Year of the High King (HK)
Traditional Dekàlan calendar adopted at the coronation of the first High King at Tor Tremendum.  This calendar has fallen from favor since the empire's fall.

Lyrasti Reckoning (LR)
The oldest Uren calendar in continued used today.  An early calendar adopted by late stone age people.  Original records of the calendar remain on menhirs throughout Lyrast.

Year of the Wyrm (YW)
An Acentran calendar measuring the time since the slaying of the wyrmlord Idharaghadi.  Illuminated calendars often portray Aracen slaying the great dragon, a legendary event that marks the beginning of the Acentran civilizations.
