"Too often days swiftly pass / Weeping in the evening grass / There just is not enough time / Forthings you dreamt you'd do / The hours still drift by.

"Too many years, too high a cost / Too many lessons earned but lost / And still you complain all the time / Cursing the days before you / Lamentng the days gone by.

"And finally laying in your bed / Staring skyward, nearly dead / It all floods back one last time, / The chances that you left behind / But alas there's little left to do / ... but cry."

Dirimoran song

Four from Eironhold
27 Lanal 652 - 5 Vulune 652

Circling the City, the group visits Dreg's Brewery and reunites with Jak at Eironhold.  From Eironhold the company rides south and east toward Oddon.  A Giants' ambush is answered with force.  Rott's armies are found encamped along the Nyr Platan.  After several checkpoints, the party returns to Oddon Keep.

The day following the Faeri Massacre was spent healing wounds suffered by the claws of the ettercap. Both Kaithah and Mishara were very thankful for Alcerra's ministrations. At the day's end Alcerra bid her friends leave and was taken by carriage to her pre-arranged meeting with the Mourners' Guild at The Tower of Sulyard.

On 3 Vulune 652, the group left Kry Shurulm on horseback, riding north and west along the Northwall Road, through Northgate, and south to the Run Merdus. Crossing the river they continued around the City walls until they came to Dreg's Brewery where they had a drink with the ever-present and hospitable Hat. Hat warned them to beware the Black Hill mines after dark for the Gru that lived there. With daylight fading, the group rode south into the evening drizzle, passing briefly through Erhet and setting off along the Barony Road as the day ended. Riding the rock strewn and twisting road in the darkness they were "greeted" by Ogdar in a stream near Eironhold who after short itnroductions told them about their friend, "the little mason", who'd been "broken" after a failed escape attempt. All waved good-bye and the group rode the rest of the night clad way to Eironhold.

Arriving at Endren's central tent, the group reunited with Jak of Candan, and spent the better part of the evening exchanging stories of their experiences since parting ways at Oddon Keep. Jak seemed somewhat amnesiac about his experiences following his imprisonment in the black book, and could not tell the group where Dammon had gone, explaining that he'd disappeared one night while they were staying at an inn within the City. After sometime, they were escorted to tents within the compound for the night. In the morning of the next day Aanna arrived with the scroll Jak had lended her and explained something of the spells contained therein. Jak offered her the "flying" spell if she would cast it into the spinning ring. She explained that it might take her some time to learn the spell and find the appropriate components but that she would explore that possibility. The group talked with Aanna for sometime about their missing companion and the Northwood Coven. She was generally helpful, until Androth's name was mentioned.

The group rode from Eironhold along the old mining path that winds its way to Oddon, at the request of Mishara. They rode long the first day, camping along the slope leading up to the mountain pass. Shortly after setting a campfire and cooking their meals, large stones started hailing into the camp, one glancing off the Elve's back, injuring him. Jak grabbed his spear and charged off into the darkness, followed shortly by the others. Running up a small ridge Jak came upon three Giants who were waiting in ambush some 50 yards from the trail. A wide battle ensued with Jak's spear tearing through Giant flesh, ghostly hands grasping at the Giants' throats, Elfin arrows spraying from the archer's bow, and large rocks catapulting through the night air. In the end, all three Giants lay in rocky craters where they'd fallen. In the morning, Mishara and Jak tracked the creatures over a high ridge and found a smoking cave in the distance, but decided to return at a later time.

On the next day the group rode up through the pass, and descended into the lowlands of the Nyr Platan. Riding out of the high hills they saw two armies encamped around Portage and Oddon, with pennants bearing the sign of the Iron Crown. Riding east to the towns they were met by guards along the road but were admitted through several checkpoints before reaching Oddon Keep in the evening of that day.

Introducing

Moren Nodrul :  Oth's southern border is lined with barren foothills known as the Moren Nodrul (Black Hills).  These foothills are believed to be reason why the Cult of Roth settled in this region.  Though plowshares cannot cut the barren ground, the area is rich with minerals.  The most common mineral mined here, iron (oth), is thought to be the finest in Terèthor.  The Uren however, were not the first to mine these hills.  Years before the first Uren settled along the Nyr Platan, Dwürden tunneled through the hills mining gold, silver, iron and tin.  Millennia of this work has left the hills honeycombed with mines, and some hollow.
