"...[name] stood in the [name2] Hall, a hundred peers watching from the galleys above. She called her Provider's name, and all could feel the power she commanded. [name3] summoned his wards, but all that watched knew his efforts were in vain. The next name she offered was his, and the misery of [name3] was legend."

Book of House Rules

To maintain a coherent and consistent plan for the World of Teréth End, some rules and content must be created, changed or omitted.  The Book of House Rules is included on this site for that purpose.  The rules and content which follow are for the use of a private set of campaigns (rf. Chronicles) and may not be useful for general consumption.

Names and titles that appear in [brackets] are temporary until a new word or name can be used.  Many proper names are copyrighted and are included in brackets to allow for indexing only.  No claims of ownership are made to items marked in this manner.

Factors for Exclusion

Each section begins with an index of items which are both found in other sources and unique to these campaigns.  For purposes of completedness, items which are not allowed are included and listed in RED with an appended code detailing why they have been excluded.  The exclusion codes are used throughout the Book of House Rules and are defined as follows:

  • NAx = not available; this is the base code for an excluded item
  • qualifier -d = duplicative
  • qualifier -f = flavor
  • qualifier -g = gating / summoning
  • qualifier -p = power level
  • qualifier -s = silly
  • qualifier -t = teleportation
  • qualifier -z = temporal

With these factors in mind, we can see why the Broadsides! feat "Captaining" is excluded.  The code NAd means that there is probably another feat that serves the same general purpose (rf. Old Salt).  A code like NAfp found with the AEG: Mercenaries feat "Continue the Fight" indicates that the feat is too powerful and doesn't match the flavor of the campaign world.

Another notation that can be found are excluding codes wrapped in parentheses (i.e. (NAg)).  Parenthetical codes indicate that "as written", the item is not allowed in the game, but that a re-working of the item at some point might remove that restriction.  An example of an (NAg) re-tooling could involve changing a [Summon Monster I] spell (which creates or summons a living, breathing animal out of thin air) to an alternative which summons a monster to the caster from somewhere nearby, forcing that available creature to physically travel to the caster.

Feats

Including in this section are 3E D&D Feats from Dragon Magazine or internet sources. Website and periodical items are compiled here for easy reference during these campaigns. Published items are indexed and referenced.  Each Feat is credited and references the original resource.  Do not expect feats listed here to be duplicates of the original, as most have been changed to satisfy the game world and the DM.  Most Region entries are specific to the World of Teréth End and replace original entries.

Fighter Feats: In the PHB, the list of feats that a fighter can choose as bonus feats is very specific. The S&F feats don't appear on that list. Therefore, the S&F feats cannot be taken as a fighter's bonus feats. (© 2001, J. Carl of WotC)
