Most sea-faring ships are either part of a
navy or share-owned by merchant groups seeking profits between
ports. Ships are huge investment. In order to
insure that a governing body is getting all it can from a
ship [Sea Captain]s are employed to select and hire crews,
maintain the vessel and sail the vessel from port to port
in the most timely manner possible. Hit

become a [Sea Captain], a character must fulfill all the following
criteria. Race: Any. Skills: Profession (Navigator)
+8, Profession (Pilot) +8, Sea Legs +4; Feats: Old
Salt; Special: Must have had command of a
ship for five missions. Class Skills:
Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Gather Information
(Cha), Intuit Direction (Wis), Knowledge (Geography) (Int),
Profession (Wis), Sea Legs
(Dex), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str) and Use Rope (Dex). Skill
points at each level: 4 + Int modifier. Class
Features: All of the following are class features
of the [Sea Captain] prestige class. Weapon and Armor
Proficiency: [Sea Captain]s are proficient with all simple
and martial weapons and light armor.

gains a +4 Charisma bonus while on own ship; Captain's
Luck: Crew may re-roll failed Profession (Sailor)
skill check once per naval battle; Dead Reckoning:
Allows the captain to navigate without referring to charts,
day or night without incurring -5 penalty. If captain
is unconscious, drunk, dead or sleeping below deck he loses
track of longitude. Determining latitude requires a
Naviagtion skill check (DC 15) and longitude (DC 20). At
10th level, the [Sea Captain] gains a +4 Competency Bonus
to these checks. but the bonus does not stack with navigation
instruments.
