Overview of the 3th Month

Orid is the final An'Marus (spring month of the northern hemisphere.  Marked by unrelenting rain in much of the Old Empire, Orid is also the beginning of the growing season.  In most littoral regions of the Teréthor, Orid is the month of Pri Tam (the seafood festival).

Festivals and Holidays: 13 - Dûntru (Dekàlan, Draun); 13-16 Pri Tam (Dekàlan)

Monthturn

1.  [All] [Oth] Day; Shortly after leaving Ortori camp, valley with two headless giants is found.  Corpses are examined before continuing. Road leads higher into the mountains, snow gets deeper. Evening; Camp is made on exposed mountainside in heavy Ortori tents.  (O-50)

2.  [All] [Oth] Nightsdeep; Dammon is carved, receives spell from familiar, [Alter Self]. Day; Group finds ruined Dwürden towers in a high pass along the Old Taládan Road. Group is ambushed by a nesting wyvern and two of the armed slaves are killed outright.  Elidir is poisoned.  Camp is made inside intact tower of gateway.  (O-50)


First Tenday

3.  [All] [Oth] Nightsdeep; Kehen bids farewell to Ezikus, opens hatch and descends into the depths of the tower complex. Dammon's familiar follows him to a secret metal door which he opens and goes through.  Familiar finds hatch closed upon return.  Saldus refuses to open.  Blind Dammon can do little about it. Familiar looks for another way out.  Morning; Dammon's familiar explores much of the tower complex before returning.  Day; Flender, Jak, Saldus, and Tressta explore beneath towers, are attacked by a Gru.  (O-50)

4.  [All] [Oth] Day. Group convalesces. Evening. Flender and Saldus return from hunting with two mountain deer.  (O-50)

5.  [All] Mamra is full. [Oth] Nightsdeep. Dammon is carved, receives spell from familiar, [Dispel Magic]. Morning.  Dammon restores his sight on second attempt.  Day; Travel through high snowy passes, at midday lowlands can be seen hazily through the distance. (O-50, 51)

6.  [All] [Oth] Day; Demon attacks group in a whirlwind of snow and wind. Several prisoners are horribly slain within the circling winds. Dammon is charmed.  Demon is killed after taking the form of a lost prisoner. Evening; Group finds some small caves for shelter. Night; Troglodytes attack and are fought back. (O-51)

7.  [All] [Oth] Day; Flender catches some fish in a mountain stream after the deer are scared off.  The masses are growing hungry and weak from travel.  Saldus cleans the stink from his bow. Group continues downward along Old Taládan Road. (O-51)

8.  [All] [Oth] Day; Group encounters farmhouse, raided and defiled by the Ortor. Group shelters in the old barn for the night, while others stay in Ortori tents. (O-51)

9.  [All] [Oth] Morning; Saldus hunts for deer with his crossbow, Flender carries them back to camp.  Evening; At the day's end group encounters a large wooden ship stranded on the mountainside, surrounded by old large firepits.  Following investigation, group is attacked by Moddah and his Ogdar guards.  Group is nearly destroyed in the battle.  Valus proves his bravery by running and Moddah escapes. (O-51)

10.  [All] [Oth] Day; Group continues down the old road and eventually reaches abandoned mines and buildings.  Night; Group camps at old mining town. (O-51)

11.  [All] [Oth] Evening; After another long day of travel, the group reaches an inhabited mining village.  The Ezmirans of the village wish to return to Kelamir but claim the road from the mountains is blocked by undead at ruins of Krysurgörnn.  Miners speak of a ship expected from Taldàna. (O-51)

12.  [All] [Oth] Morning; Group and workers with ore-laden wagons start down the steep mountain road toward the lowlands of Ezmir. Day; The green lands of Ezmir can be seen stretching into the distance, still far below.  Evening; Group reaches the ridge above Krysurgörnn and the miners say they will go no further. The darkest nights of the month are ahead. Group ventures down toward keep, investigates ruins.  Evening; Tressta falls into western courtyard, fight insues with undead. Night; Regroup at miners' camp. Aroàn arrives and heals the injured. (O-51, 52)


Midmonth

13.  [All] Dûntru. [Oth] Group returns to Krysurgörnn with Aroàn.  Dammon discovers radiant magic from Dwürden sarcophagus, which opened reveals the remains of Argum the White.  Flender and Elidir die. Day; Group returns to camp.  Aroàn gives last rites to the dead and they are buried on the mountainslopes as the prisoners and miners look on. (O-52)

14.  [All] Woad is new. [Oth] Group rests. (O-52)

15.  [All] Mamra is new. [Oth] Group rests. (O-52)

16.  [All] [Oth] At Aroàn's request the group returns to Krysurgörnn and battle the ghost of the Ezmiran necromancer Inkor Gnar.  Jak, Saldus and Tressta are overwhelmed with horror at the ghost's visage, and magically drained. (O-52)


Second Tenday

17.  [All] [Oth] Day; Group rests. Aroàn speaks of leaving toward Oth.  Jak tells Aroàn of dangers along Old Taládan Road. Miners are gathered and led down through ruins of Krysurgörnn. Evening; Caravan stops in lowland hills. (O-52, 53)

18.  [All] [Oth] Morning; Caravan continues toward Kelamir.  Tower of Kelamir seen in distance.  Tressta talks with Ezmiri miner about tower.  Pass quarry along road.  Day; Kelamir.  Tressta speaks with locals, looking for priest.  Jak and Tressta go meet Erezed, learn of Waranyx in Boronon.  Dammon speaks to Amran priestess Gadya.  Everyone gathers at Gadya's and watches bells ring over Dammon.  Evening; Dammon spends evening and night with Gadya. (O-53)

19.  [All] [Oth] Morning; Dammon rejoins group at inn.  Provisions procured.  Group leaves for Boronon.  Evening; Camp in woods.  Night; Tressta investigates light in the woods.  Group engages will-of-the-wisp.  Dammon's familiar retrieves faerie corpse. (O-53)

20.  [All] [Oth] Morning; Continue toward Boronon.  Day; Out of the woods; come to village of Tunar.  Speak with Gerje and donkey Gal in Tunar.  Jak buys arrows.  Stay at Murgar Inn.  Tressta talks with local girl while taking bath. Night; Confrontation downstairs finds a man arguing with innkeeper for three rooms; man has four bodies strapped to his horse. Jak watches man leave town. (O-53)

21.  [All] [Oth] Morning; Continuing toward Boronon, pass man sleeping beneath a tree. Evening; Group finds old campsite with a burnt-out wagon. (O-53)

22.  [All] [Oth] Nightsdeep; Rain.  During the third watch an old hunched man with a backpack comes to campsite. Jak wakes Tressta.  Old man collecting mushrooms.  Tells of old witch that lives four hours to the West, named Adjeryx. Morning; Old man leads group into the woods to the old woman's tower.  Group asks for restorative potions to be made.  Tressta, Dammon and Jak follow old man around learning potion lore. (O-53)

26.  [All] Mamra is full. [Oth] Morning; Adjeryx completes four potions; Jak (+3 STR), Saldus (+2 STR) and Tressta (+1 CON) each imbibe.  Witch tells group about a very bad witch in a nearby swamp.  Adjeryx explains that in payment for her services she wishes group to venture there, destroy the witch and return with all her herbs and ingredients.  Day; Group reaches swamp and fight "Baby" and the dark hag.  A magic silver ring is found on a finger in the hag's lair.  Night; Group returns to the tower of Adjeryx, who is very pleased with their work. 28.  [All] Woad is full. [Oth] Morning; Adjeryx completes more potions; Sal (+2 CON), Tressta (+2 DEX), Jak (+3 DEX). Collecting herbs and mushrooms. (O-53)

Calendars

Here are a list of the most well-known calendar systems

Ancient Reckoning (AR)
A strictly historical calendar that dates backward from the beginning of the High King's calendar.

Before the Wyrm (BW)
A Vulmuran calendar used to reference years preceeding the Reign of Idharaghadi of Samad.

Dekàlan Reckoning (DR)
Calendar adopted following the Fall of Dekàlas.

Emereni Reckoning (ER)
A proper calendar in the Elve tradition, in that it returns to 0 when new ages are entered.

Year of the High King (HK)
Traditional Dekàlan calendar adopted at the coronation of the first High King at Tor Tremendum.  This calendar has fallen from favor since the empire's fall.

Lyrasti Reckoning (LR)
The oldest Uren calendar in continued used today.  An early calendar adopted by late stone age people.  Original records of the calendar remain on menhirs throughout Lyrast.

Year of the Wyrm (YW)
An Acentran calendar measuring the time since the slaying of the wyrmlord Idharaghadi.  Illuminated calendars often portray Aracen slaying the great dragon, a legendary event that marks the beginning of the Acentran civilizations.
