Oth. Seventy-One.
Jak. Six.
Note: It is early morning.
Jak sits down at the counter and looks around the
tavern room.
In the left corner, closest to the weaponboard sit
two men in rich clothes. They've been arguing for sometime about
matters of business. it seems one of the men has brought a shipment
but claims he cannot deliver on the agreed upon price. Typical banter.
Across the center aisle from the merchants are three
tables of farmers and peasantry come inside for morning tea and
bread. Each looks filthy and smells the same.
Another figure sits in the dark right corner around
from the fireplace. He sits alone at a round table staring off into
space. The
innkeeper taps your arm, "May I help you sir?"
He follows your gaze to the corner and adds, "That would be
Old Daris, blind as a bat."
"Yes, a bowl of stew, some bread, butter."
The man nods and walks into the back.
Your eyes finally fall upon the stirring form of
the man sleeping with his arms
crossed on the counter. It's been a long night for someone.
The innkeeper steps from the doorway with a plate
of bread and small tub of butter.
The man delivers the food while the waking figure raises his head
and glances bleary?
eyed about himself.
"Lasserbrig?" the man asks.
"Yes Adae?"
"What happened."
"You fell asleep."
The man looks down into his mug and frowns slightly
to find it empty. "What time is
it?"
"Morning."
"Did the travelers ever show?"
"Not that I'm aware of," answers the innkeeper
grinning.
"When did I fall asleep?"
"I was telling you a story." Lasserbrig
answers.
"Oh, that explains..." but he stops. "Well,
I should be getting back to the farm."
"On an empty stomach," the innkeeper asks
with a smile.
The man stops again and rubs the sleep from his eyes.
"That does sound foolish now
that you mention it," he smiles. The man looks at you and your
breakfast. "Give me
what the gentleman down there is having if you have any to spare."
The innkeeper sighs and walks into the back.

many people and possibly someone that could help him.

[The following was sent to me earlier... But if you two
would just like to banter awhile (and keep me in the loop please, :?)
then we can forget the staid formal turns until one or more leave the
tavern. I'll be sure to butt in should anything important happen. ?

Slowly, Adae wakes his body up, stretching, looking like
an persons on definitely in need of something warm and stimulating to
drink. As Lasserbrig brings the food out, Adae waits for his, and, face
almost in the hot tea, inhales the warmth.
"That, dear friend, is tea. And a good wake up if
ever there was." He sounds almost reverent. Eating slowly, enjoying
the morning, Adae nods to any other patron that meets his gaze.
Afterwards; "well, I'm going to head home, my friend.
If they pass through, send them up to the farm. Could you wrap me a small
loaf for the trip? I need to go water the flowers and make sure everything
works."
Smiling, Adae goes outside to relieve himself some where
appropriate and private. And musing, pondering, thinking.
Planning the trip home, perhaps he should stop by and check
on some recoveries? One or two there. And certainly something to thank
Lasserbrig for his hospitality. Something nice. And any other oppertunities
that seem likely. "Hmm....
he muses, I wonder about Daris hmmm mmmm
Returning inside for the bread, and saying his goodbyes
to all and sundry, Adae heads roundabout fashion for home. (unless otherwise
halted)
Sam:
Lounging, moving slowly. Hate these waking up in bars..
The next to last paragraph is the daily, comments? Adae is slow enough
that someone could speak to him at most any time.

The man smiles, "Wonderful. Fact is, the people I've
been waiting for all night might be heading in your direction, into the
woods that is." He shrugs and looks around the tavern. "I haven't
seen them of course, but that's no great surprise, there's many roads
they could have come along."
"If you're interested," he adds looking at the
spear propped against the far wall, "I'm sure they'd welcome some
fighter support. We are talking about the Goblin Lands after all. And
who knows, maybe they could help you find your 'something'."

The man smiles. "They're heading to the farm,"
he points over his shoulder. "Couple hills north of here. I thought
I might be able to intercept them and show them the way, but either they're
lost, or they found another way." Adae stands and straightens himself
out. "I'll be heading there directly, unless you've got other places
to be. You're welcome to come along. I've got to get back and check on
my guest anyway."

"That's up to you. The group should be leaving
in the next couple days. It's going to take at least that long to decide
where exactly they're going and which is the best way to do it. If you'd
like to meet us tomorrow or the day after, feel free to come and join.
Just take the road out front north to Karet's Mill, turn right and you'll
come into a small square. Take the north road from there. It's smaller,
wide enough for one wagon maybe. A trail leads left from the road to the
farm at the Hanging Tree."
